Hi all,
I've recently purchased my first moto to race with friends.
I've picked up a Polini 911 gp2 rolling chassis. Follow my journey and feel free to give me your two cents as it develops.

UPDATE:
I've spent the last day pulling it apart, cleaning & polishing it.
Before & after
Looks like the rear wheel has had a lock up and destroyed the rear hub, but I'll sort that out.
Components so far
Still lots to do.
I've also noticed the welds for the front engine mounts look a bit hack, are these standard?
It's not a problem if not, I'll get it sorted.
looking good! love a bit of polished steel and ali lol
rememer these bikes where hand made, so welds arnt going to be machine perfect![]()
To me That looks like original mounts have been cut off
And sum1 else done a bit of pigeon [emoji90] welding with different mounts
It is a GP not a GP2
The GP used some crappy mount for the head which was a bit of a weak point so someone in the past has done away with that and repositioned the original mounts.
Thanks for the information Bullit,.
UPDATE:
After grinding the poor casting marks off the yokes I have finished polishing the lower yoke.
The swingarm assembly is being sorted out & getting prepped for paint. I'm almost tempted to make a new swingarm, either from steel or I could model a new one and get it milled out of billet aluminium.
As for the rear wheel hugger I'm going to be making a mold to lay up a carbon fibre one, I'll probably make a few if anybody wants to buy one.
Update:
An engine has arrived!
323 Polini 4.2 with a bzm clutch, if anybody can give me information on this engine that would be great!
I also have the top half of some dodgy Polini pipe with it that needs some love.
Give me some pointers.
What info are you after mate?
That's a standard 4.2 pipe
Engine is a series 1 4.2 3port. I think I've got a spare twin reed conversion for that. All you need now is the 14sha carb and dellorto quick action throttle cable.
You got the manifold for the 4.2pipe?
Hi guys, sorry for the delay.
I haven't got a manifold, carb or clutch bell. If you can help, that would be great.
I've managed to get hold of what I believe to be a 6.2 pipe although there is brasing near the manifold, I've heard this will fit with the removal of a couple of the head fins.
Will upload photos as soon as I've polished it.
What's the deal with brasing exhausts? I would have thought it would get hot enough to melt it, correct me if I'm wrong.
You shouldn't need to remove any fins for a 6.2 pipe only proddy pipe.
Thanks for the information, I'm struggling to find out what exhaust this is. I was thinking a gp3 or 910. Do you know?

Could be either of those, or even a gp3 rep
