View Full Version : Scheduled Downtime

In the next couple of weeks we have 2 major infrastructure upgrades coming up:

- This Friday we'll have our rack taken offline for a 30 minute period scheduled between 6AM and 12 PM GMT, this will be to introduce a remote console rebooting system. This system will allow us to view our console directly and cycle power to it in the rare event where the operating system becomes unresponsive. Previously this task has been delegated to on-site staff resulting in a 15-30 minute delay from discovery of a system failure to reboot taking place, the new system will cut down on that delay significantly.

- On the 13th we may experience intermittent network outages between the hours of 9AM and 12 PM GMT as a new IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) is being added at the internet backbone access point. This system will intercept and eliminate hostile internet traffic such as DDoS attacks and worm propagation traffic, increasing overall server stability and uptime during attacks significantly.

This server downtime will affect both minimotosidecars.org & minimotoclub.com

Just another quickie - there will be some downtime due to software upgrading this week.

I'll try to keep this to a minimum, but there will be periods of inaccessibility.

Also on that point, whilst this is going on, certain features will not be available (arcade, chat etc) These will come back up as the upgrade progresses.

Thanks. Chris.
