Hi all. I picked the DM up of eBay at the week end and needs some tlc. Will post some pictures when in the shed in the week.
There are a few things which I need to do to be able to ride it. The first one is secure the front disc. It looks like the bolts are incorrect and could be for a floating disc. Does any one know which bolts should hold a standard disc on. Picture or part number would help.
Thanks
I will keep adding to this as they are always a good read.

This is the carb on the bike. Needs a good clean as there was loads of fuel in there when i took the air filter off.

Its a floating disc - it's supposed to be like that.
The bracket looks like a water pump bracket - as it's under the frame i'd say that there should be a large pulley wheel on the rear hub which the o ring /drive belt should go round to drive the pump (unless the pump has never been fitted). I assume it's air cooled at the moment so doesn't need the pump???

That's a normal amount of movement on the disc.
I'd say it's been cut so you can remove the exhaust without removing the engine

OK thanks. Nothing to worry about then.
I cleaned the carb last night but couldn't see what jet size was in there all I could see on it was polini.

Thanks.
You must have different hubs as you have a disc carrier as well.

Been in the shed again after ordering some new bolts for things.
Do the bolts which hold the hub to the wheels need to be normal, stainless or high tensile.
I need a new front spindle as the current one is a bit short 5mm. Does this need to be the precision one from mmr as thats m10 155m long?
Was going to get new wheel bearings as well, as some one has tried to get them out with a screw driver. The one in there are NTN 6000Z. Can anyone confirm is these are correct and will the rears be the same?
Started the bike on saturday for the first time on the 2nd pull after the carb clean out.

Once again Thanks All.

One other question. Whats the best filler to touch up the seat unit with.

I use stainless bolts for the hubs. And high tensile self colour m10 bolts for the spindles
The wheelbearing number is 6000 front and rear

Not a problem. Do you have any plans to race it? That bike was previously used in the BMB championship

21ninja

I won't be racing this year just practicing. I've not risen a mini moto for 10 years plus. Next year tho I wouldn't mind a few races.
Do most people race swell?
The chap I got it off said he used to race and there were 4 transponder holders on it.
I'm looking forward to getting on it and giving it a go.

New wheel bearings fitted to the front with new hub bolts. Will have the back wheel out and change those as well.
I need to tidy the seat unit up and then will be ready for the track.

What's the best way to strip the paint and fill some holes on the seat unit.

Right, been slack lately. Family stuff.
Need to get back out in the shed and complete what I have, to enable me to get to the track this month.
Need to prime the seat unit and replace the gaskets in the carb.
Drain all the old fuel out.
Get new fuel to go with my new oil.
All thats left is to make sure my leathers still fit.

Hi All.
I was taking the carb off today to do the gaskets and noticed the throttle cable had been getting stuck to the exhaust by the previous owner. Now i have attached 2 pictures of the throttle and I have a PHBG 15 carb. I've looked at what cable is fitted and it's a GRC 112 331 00-05-13. To me this cable feels short when on full lock to the right.
I measure the inner cable to be 875mm and the outer to 495mm.
If any one can help I would br greatful.

Pics won't load for me. Most of them will have a melted outer as they run very close if you have a proddy pipe. Routing can take some time to get it to how you want it.

OK. Done the pictures right this time.
I might keep the cable I have got then see about the routing it better.

Hi Guys.
Still not done much to the bike. Not got much time due to the kids.
I'm in 2 minds what to do, keep the bike or let it go to some one who will have time to use it.
I've not rode it since I got it.
