View Full Version : FormulaKart Blackpool 2014 UPDATE!

21-08-2014, 01:48 AM
Hi Everyone, i'm new to this forum so sorry if i'm making any mistakes. Me and my mate have just bought ourselves some CAG Mini Motos, we couldn't afford race ones. We both live in the Northwest and want somewhere to race them for the day. I found out about this FormulaKart Race track in Blackpool so i decided to drive down and check it out to see if its still running.

We found it! but no one was there :/, to be fair it was 6:00pm so it was unlikely that we would have found someone working. We did manage to speak to a guy fishing on the pier and he said that the place is rarely in use, i guess that's because of recent weather ?

I have messaged the owned on Facebook and here was the conversation

Hi me and a few mates have just bought 50cc mini motos, we're looking for somewhere to take them, we live in Preston and you guys are the closest track, do you do mini moto days and if so how much do you charge?

Hi Craig yes we do 25 for half a day 40 for a full day cheers!

Great! And how many hours is half a day?

4 Hours

Anyway i'm interested to see if anyone would be up for a race day soon! ?

Hey, thanks for posting this. I hope some others can make use of this track too. Looks quirky!

:laughs: No worries, the northwest seems to have a weak mini moto scene so hopefully this can get people interested : ) !!

Depends on the actual date but I would be up for it, don't think you should bother with a race just a track day will do.

I'd be up for a go on that track as long as it's a full day on a weekend

Itsnot a bad track,I ride pitbike sm there.cover your kids ears near the owner though every other word is a curse.

Its concrete not tarmac but is grippy enough.

Its quite expensive for what it is, but you can have fun. Always always call him before driving there, twice I have been caught out when he has no showed because poor weather has put waves over the sea wall and flooded half the track...

Deffo worth a trip for us north westers!

Thankyou for the info Dangle_kt, you fancy coming down for a track day sometime soon?

07-09-2014, 05:06 PM
Its a bit tight for a pit,and all the corners are slow speed. I don't get to ride often so I don't mind travelling to teeside or whilton on the occasions i do get some time

I have been down there for the day and i loved it as you can open up the throttle on some of the straights which to me is great , the corners are slow but it is quite grippy
once you get talking to the guy he is actually alright just got to be prepared for the swearing but c mon we are all adults
im looking to go there again in the next month so hopefully a few of us can get down there ?
it is abit expensive but its the only place near here so i don't mind once in a while , ow and don't forget to ring him before hand

In that picture i have on a HJC helmet ,alpinestars gloves frank thomas textile jacket and im wearing leather dungarees for the bottom half with some standard half leg motorcycle boots , i have since picked up a one piece full leather suit so these are up for grabs
Frank thomas are a good make
Rst are abit more expensive and then you have brands like alpinestars , richa etc

take a look at some of these websites

and here is a link if your stuck on what to get

Hi....I'm from Blackpool and wanting to get back into riding mini moto's again after around 5 years off them. So this track would be ideal for me.
I've just purchased an air cooled polini so I am eager to try it :)
If this track day is still happening...me and my cousin would both be willing to join you if that's alright.
Thanks guys.....
