Just thought I'd put up a little build thread of this. I got this project off Bodhii for a mate who wanted a quicker bike than his CAG but on a budget. He has now decided that too much work is involved for him so iv bought it off of him even though iv not really got the funds for a rebuild project.

So here is how it started along with a bag of bits

Cheers Wedgie. The worst wheels I ever refurbed were the 17's on my old Suzuki RGV. Gold centres with polished lips, took bloody ages.

A little bit more progress to report. Got the frame back from the bodyshop tonight who had to repair a small crack around the footpeg mount, all sorted now though which is good.
Also the foot pegs and swing arms have been cleaned up and painted. Got a few bits put together and seat unit fitted.

This is a 910 GP2 so slightly smaller than the 911 but uses a lot of the same parts like swing arms, front end etc. I will be reviving the 911 thread soon.

Hope to make a bit more progress later after work.

Well I got some more done today and it's starting to look like a bike again now. Front end all cleaned and fitted except the grips, motor and pipe fitted.
Put a watercooled in it as that's what it originally came with, just waiting on a few parts for it.

Got a few more bits done to the bike but no pics yet I'm afraid. Tyres fitted, all new cables, sprocket, throttle and grips on and the rad loosely mocked up. Oh yer and the front fairing has been painted to match.

Only a couple of jobs left now :)

I know I spent ages cleaning the hubs and the lips of the rims but once you put everything on all the hard work is covered up.

Bullit

Fair enough Shaun you win the shiniest wheel award,iv not got the patience to get them that good.

That washer is the top of the fuel cap as that had somehow gone missing.

It should have been in the tank did you not have it? Can't believe that's what I had lying in the shed can't wait to see it in action

The bottom half was in the tank but the top half was missing. Sorry to rub it in but looks even better when the front fairing is on,was handy that I had the right one in the shed.

Ok got a couple more pics of the bike. Swapped the watercooled out for an aircooled for wroughton as I might not have time to play with the plumbing beforehand.
All that's left to do is cut the fuel pipe to length, brace for front fairing then hopefully run it up.

You must be joking. Fresh paint means a definite low side at about the third corner lol

Just don't do what I did last time !! Turned too tight for the right hander and fell off then proceeded to sky exactly the same thing 2 corners later !!
