I have read plenty on replacing the exhaust and it seems pretty straight forward. I suppose the question applies to other areas of the bike also, but when replacing a part that uses a gasket is there any sort of gasket sealant that is needed, or does the gasket just go straight on? Does this apply when replacing the carb gasket also?

Hi mate, if the old Gasket is still in tact then by all means try to remove it & re-use it. If it's leaking or looks a bit grotty then try to get a new one. Watch out with those chinese exhausts though, my younger brother bought a 41.00+10.00 postage sports exhaust from Ebay, looks really mint but when trying to fit to the bike, has a very crude fit. Not too happy about that unfortuantly.

i gave up with the exhaust gasket as mine were splitting or brakeing up. i know haveing a gasket is always better but what i did was file both faces flat then apply gasket sealent
