Pat it determines whether you start from the front of the grid or the back. The faster you qualify the nearer the front you will be.

If you go down on Sunday and miss qualifying you will start from the back of the grid.

If you come down on sunday you will start at the back of the grid. The grid positions are determined over 2 computerised timing sessions, there are two untimed practice sessions before, this is generally to make sure that you transponder is fitted and working. Grid positions are determined from the best time from the two time qualification sessions.

You don't have to get under a qualification time, i.e 107% of pole time.

It is timed down to 1/1000 of a second, and also gives you average speed. Just make sure that you have somewhere to mount the transponder on the inside of the bike otherwise you risk damaging it and they are expensive. Oh and you need an R clip to hold it in, if you don't have you can buy one (usually at the track for 1).

Don't worry there are plenty of really friendly and helpful people who will only be two pleased to help you.

so do u just borrow a transponder or do u have to
buy one.
